Notifications, Background Settings & FAQ

Configure daily and smart notifications, fix missing notifications on Samsung/Xiaomi/Android devices in 3 steps, and review common FAQs.

1. Notification Types & Parameters

Under Settings → Notification Settings, you can configure three types of reminders:

  1. Morning & Evening Reminders (Free):
    • Set custom times for a morning motivation prompt and an evening check-in reminder.
  2. Smart Notifications (Pro):
    • Analyzes the high-risk times of day logged in your check-in history and sends a supportive nudge before your typical vulnerable hours.
  3. Streak Progress Notifications (Pro):
    • Sends milestone encouragement as you approach your winning streak target.

2. Not Receiving Notifications on Android? (3-Step Fix)

Some Android manufacturers (especially Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, OPPO, and vivo) apply strict background battery restrictions that can block scheduled local notifications even when notification permissions are enabled.

Follow these 3 steps to ensure reliable delivery:

Step 1: Verify Notification Permissions

  • Open your phone’s Settings → Apps → Transform → Notifications and make sure Allow Notifications is turned on.

Step 2: Set Battery Usage to “Unrestricted” (Critical)

On Samsung (One UI) and most Android devices:

  1. Open system Settings;
  2. Go to Battery (or Device Care → Battery);
  3. Tap Background usage limits or App power management / Battery optimization;
  4. Find Transform in the app list;
  5. Change its setting to Unrestricted.

Step 3: Allow Background Activity

  • Under Settings → Apps → Transform → Battery, confirm that Allow background activity is enabled.

Does this drain battery? No. These settings simply allow the operating system’s alarm scheduler to deliver scheduled notifications on time—Transform does not run continuously in the background.
